WRRC is recruiting for a Rural Development Officer

The Rural Development Officer (RDO) Program is a collaborative initiative that brings FRL together with rural non-profit and voluntary organizations and unemployed individuals. Eligible individuals are placed in work placements with rural non-profit, charitable and community-based organizations (Community Partners). This allows Community Partners to build their human and resource capacity so they can achieve their mission. At the same time, the program creates meaningful work experiences for Program Participants who will: gain current work experience to add to their resumes; maintain or enhance their current job skills; participate in on-line professional development opportunities relevant to securing employment in the nonprofit sector; and develop professional and business networks within their host organization, geographic community and beyond.

To qualify for this position you must be currently receiving EI or eligible for "reachback" status.

A Train the Trainer approach will prepare workplace participants to:
· Understand implications of domestic violence in workplace and how to respond to it
· Recognize warning signs of domestic violence in workplace
· Develop policies and procedures to meet Bill 168 requirements
· Work on real scenarios
· Facilitate and present information back in the workplace
· Plan next steps in the workplace
